It's Friday! Thanks for stopping by to see what I'm digging this week. Don't forget to pop over to the other gals' sites to see what they're loving, too: Misha, Kendra, Mary Beth, and Amanda. And welcome, Aileen!
ONE: Luna & Larry's Coconut Bliss Bars
I love coconut! I cook with coconut oil, drink coconut milk, use coconut lotion...I even like coconut flavored syrup in my shave ice. So it's no wonder that I'm loving Luna & Larry's Coconut Bliss Bars. These creamy ice cream bars are a yummy, organic, vegan treat.
TWO: Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream
As I've mentioned in previous posts, I love 60s folk music. The other day, I was editing pictures and listening to my Pete Seeger Pandora station. This song came on and I fell in love with it. As a pacifist, it perfectly embodies my dream of peace at both national and international levels. And in light of recent local events, I think it's quite befitting. Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream by Ed McCurdy, performed by Simon and Garfunkel:
THREE: Orange Is The New Black Season 3
The season 3 trailer of OITNB was released yesterday and let's just say, I am excited for June! I'm especially glad to see no sign of Vee rising from the dead. Her scheming made season 2 dark and heavy. I'm ready for more of the laughs found in the show's earlier episodes.
FOUR: Mbube (The Lion Sleeps Tonight) performed by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
The other day my mom and I were discussing the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo. (The conversation began with me confirming a long-held suspicion that the band in the 1990s Life Savers commercials also sang with Ben Harper on Picture of Jesus.) Anyway, my mom asked if LBM ever sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight. A YouTube search resulted in this wonderful discovery:
Have a lovely weekend!
